'Primary Occupation' is found within the Work Experience section.
When you Add or Edit a Work Experience, you first complete the Job title, Company name, Industry and Category / Occupation. You are then presented with the question:
Primary Occupation
When you click on the 'Primary Occupation' drop-down, you will be shown a list of occupations. QuietAgent builds this list of occupations when you select your Category / Occupation(s).
For example, if you selected these Categories / Occupations to classify (describe) a job role you have performed in the past:
Human Resources / Recruitment:
- Payroll
- Compensation and Benefits
Accounting:
- Accounts Assistant
then QuietAgent will return the following jobs from its O*NET occupation database for you to select from:
- Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks
- Compensation and Benefits Managers
- Compensation Benefits, and Job Analysis Specialists
- Payroll and Timekeeping Clerks
It is up to you to select the broad occupation from this list that most closely matches the primary function or role you performed in this job. You will notice that if you go back to your 'Category / Occupation' question, and add more occupations, then the 'Primary Occupation' list may increase in options.
What is O*NET?
